Oscar Piastri will be determined to win the Qatar Grand Prix to keep his dream of winning the Formula One world title alive heading into the last race.

The McLaren driver failed to secure a podium spot at the Las Vegas Grand Prix on 22 November, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Piastri started on the fifth grid, and he went on to finish, but he was disqualified for excessive plank wear, which saw him leave the USA without a single point.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup champion is still placed second on the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 366 points.
However, Piastri is 24 points behind the leader, Lando Norris of McLaren, and level on points with third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing.
Why Piastri could win the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix
The 2023 FIA Rookie of the Year will be returning to Asia, where he has enjoyed some success this season, winning the Chinese, Bahrain and Saudi Arabian races.
Piastri, who finished third in last season's Qatar Grand Prix, knows he cannot afford to drop points this weekend as only a win can boost his Formula One world title aspirations.
What did he say?
"Disappointing to come away from this weekend with no points after an unfortunate disqualification due to skid wear," Piastri said after the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
"With how close the grid is, we’re always looking at where we can gain performance, and we didn’t get it right this time.
"We now need to reset, refocus and push to get the best points possible in the final two rounds, both tracks that we've been strong at previously."
